Fall Drinks in Portland
Pumpkin is only the beginning.
Portland coffee shops have officially entered fall mode, which means seasonal lattes, matcha, housemade syrups and plenty of drinks that go way beyond the standard pumpkin spice situation. Here's what to keep an eye out for around town.
Quick note: Fall menus can rotate throughout the season and drinks may sell out, so check with the cafe before making a trip for one specific special.

Roseline Coffee
Multiple Portland Locations
Roseline is one of the shops we keep an eye on when fall menus start rolling out. Their seasonal drinks tend to get creative with housemade flavors rather than stopping at the standard PSL.
Their past fall menus have included things like pumpkin frangipane, black sesame caramel and seasonal matcha drinks, so check their current cafe menu to see what's pouring now.

Upper Left Roasters
1204 SE Clay St.
Upper Left has a history of going a little left of center with its seasonal drinks — think pumpkin with green cardamom or colorful ube and black sesame combinations rather than another copy-and-paste pumpkin latte.
Their cafe menu rotates, so check what's currently on the board when you stop in.

Sisters has regularly rolled out seasonal cafe specials at its Pearl location, and the giant windows plus cozy upstairs seating make this one feel particularly appropriate once Portland gets gray again.
Past fall menus have included drinks like the tea-and-espresso Overcast and spiced seasonal lattes. Check the cafe's current board for this year's rotation.

Pistachio Latte with Baklava Cold Foam: Pistachio plus baklava-inspired cold foam is exactly the kind of thing that gets us to abandon the regular order.
Palo Santo Latte: One of Café Yaffe's current specialty lattes.
Lavender Latte with Rose Cold Foam: A floral option for anyone whose fall palette isn't exclusively brown and cinnamon.
Golden Milk: Another warm, spiced option currently on the specialty drink menu.
Consider this your excuse to order the seasonal drink.
